Neurocare has been in operation since 1997 in Brisbane, and we
were excited
to make Perth the location of our second clinic in 2006. In the
past we have
worked extensively with both children and adults exhibiting neurological
challenges such as ADD/ADHD, head injury, learning difficulties,
stroke,
autism/aspergers, depression, anxiety and many others.
Neurofeedback is an amazing new technology in which information
about brain
activity is fed back to the central nervous system. The brain
then uses this
information to re-organise itself and its function. When this
happens a broad
array of seemingly unrelated symptoms cognitive, emotional
and physical
can be resolved. In recent years the field of Neurotherapy has
made significant
findings demonstrating efficacy in improving the above conditions.
In fact, Dr Frank H. Duffy, a Professor and Pediatric Neurologist
at Harvard
Medical School, stated in an editorial in the January 2000 issue
of the journal
Clinical Electroencephalography that Neurotherapy should
play a major
therapeutic role in many difficult areas. In my opinion, if any
medication had demonstrated such a wide spectrum of efficacy it
would be universally accepted and widely used (p. v). It
is a field to be taken seriously by all (p. vii).
Neurotherapy works impressively as a stand-alone or adjunctive
therapy with many healing modalities including Occupational and
Speech therapy, Medicative and Nutritional support, Physiotherapy
and Psychotherapy among others. Other aspects of learning such
as improved memory, attention/concentration, processing speed,
emotional stability, improved sleep and peak performance may also
be improved using this technology.
At Neurocare we strive to provide a professional and compassionate
approach to helping clients achieve the goals in self-regulation
and healing of their mind and body.
If you should require any further information, please do not hesitate
to contact us at either our Perth or Brisbane office.
